A control arm, also referred to as an A-arm in automotive suspension, is a hinged suspension link that connects the chassis to the hub supporting the wheel or suspension upright. It can support and connect the car's suspension to the subframe of the vehicle.
Where the control arms connect to the vehicle's spindle or undercarriage, they have serviceable bushings on either end.
The bushings no longer create a solid connection as the rubber ages or breaks, which affects the handling and ride quality. It is possible to press out the old, worn bushing and press in a replacement rather than replacing the complete control arm.
The control arm bushing was built to OE design specifications and precisely performs the intended function.
